In this informative webcast, professors Jay Coleman and Mike DuMond discuss the 2012 Dance Card, revealing this year’s accuracy rate in predicting at-large selections to the Men’s Division I NCAA Tournament. The professors review the top 70 teams in the Dance Card, identify one team that may indicate a conference bias by the selection committee and discuss their use of SAS analytics in calculating the Dance Card.
The Dance Card is produced by Jay Coleman, PhD, a professor of Operations Management and Quantitative Methods in the Coggin College of Business at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville; Mike DuMond, a Principal at Charles River Associates and an adjunct professor of labor economics and computer programming at Florida State University in Tallahassee; and Allan Lynch, Associate Professor of Economics & Quantitative Methods at the Stetson School of Business and Economics at Mercer University.
